Program Description

This 50-week diploma program prepares students for the practical demands of modern IT infrastructure and cybersecurity roles. Designed with direct input from industry professionals, the program blends hands-on technical training with certification-focused learning to help students develop practical, job-ready skills.

Students gain experience in configuring enterprise networks, securing systems, managing cloud services, and responding to real-time threats. Students learn the day-to-day tasks expected of network and cybersecurity professionals. The program emphasizes job readiness, lab-based learning, and exposure to equipment and tools widely used in the field, including Cisco routers and switches, Microsoft Azure, VMware virtualization, and Kali Linux.

Course Objectives

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Design and apply secure network architectures and configurations used in enterprise environments
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, and identity access
  • Configure, monitor, and secure enterprise networks using Cisco switching and routing technologies
  • Use industry-standard tools to identify, investigate, and respond to real-time cyber threats and security incidents
  • Plan and conduct ethical hacking tests and vulnerability assessments in isolated lab environments
  • Set up and maintain hybrid infrastructure environments using VMware and other virtualization platforms
  • Develop skills to pursue multiple IT and cybersecurity certifications

Course Deliverables

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Build and secure LAN/WAN networks using routers, switches, and access points configured to best practices
  • Implement firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control measures for secure remote and internal connectivity
  • Simulate cyberattacks and carry out penetration tests to identify exploitable vulnerabilities in systems
  • Configure and manage virtual machines and containers across enterprise and cloud platforms for testing or deployment
  • Manage Azure Active Directory, RBAC policies, and cloud network configurations in live or test environments
  • Analyze security incidents using logs, SIEM platforms, and common threat intelligence feeds, then escalate or remediate
  • Develop and run basic automation scripts using PowerShell or Bash to streamline system tasks and improve response times
  • Contribute directly to SOC Tier I/II workflows or assist in the deployment of secure IT infrastructure in mid-to-large organizations

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • OR International credential evaluated by WES, ICAS, IQAS or CES
  • OR Mature student status with successful Wonderlic score
  • AND Admission interview
